Get the system 3.0 files from the Kawai Australian site. To load them in your K5000,
you put the system file on a disk, and then hold down the "F2" key while
you power on (with the disk in the drive of course).
Get the Sound Diver Windows from the Kawai US site if you are running a Windows
machine (I'm not sure if their copy works - it might be corrupted like
their other files - can anyone confirm either way?).
While you're there, get the new patch sets (a back up of your system 1.0 sounds,
the new system 3.0 sounds, and the free collection 2 sounds). You will
probably have to use Jens' "convert" program (available in my patch archive) to
get them to work, but try them and see if they load without converting them
first.
You can get to these sites from my "links" page.
Finally, you can get all of the free patches available in my archive and on Quiffy's
page (there is a link from my archive).
Also, I am curious about what that "Best of NAMM 1997" disk is. I don't have one.
Can you play around with it and give us a report?

I just noticed a mistake there. The Kawai US site doesn't have the Sound Diver
editor on their downloads page. If you contact Kawai though, I'm sure they
would send you a set of System 3.0 disks and the SoundDiver editor.

Upon poking around a little, I've found that the
"K5000 Series Best of NAMM 1997" disk has the top
20 patches each of single, multi, and combi from
the latest NAMM expo. I'll try my best to put them
up online for everyone to download soon!

Did some recording this week w/ the K5kS, and it
sounds great! Now if that Roland Groove Box would
get here... [shiny silver boxes! fun!]

Do you think it would be legal to put them on my site? Are there any distribution
limitations and who originally distributed it (was it from the Kawai booth)? If
it's all clean, you could mail them to me as pkzipped file attachments and I'd
put them in the archive.
Thanks for the info,
