Want to become a famous K5000 hacker?
Then implement the 'SHARC' Timbre Database
      http://sparky.parmly.luc.edu/sharc/
on your K5000! And don't forget to give us the patches!
What? Me? Lazy? You might be right...

The Sharc database gives the frequency profile for various notes on an instrument.
I think the problem is how to seperate a harmonic spectrum contribution,
which follows pitch, from a formant filter contribution, which is the same for
     every note.

but can't you apply KS Depth to the filter envelope, and thus make the formant
filter follow the notes you are playing?

Speaking of which, does anyone know at which value to set the Key Scale to
make it follow the notes on the keyboard exactly?

Example: How do you set the DCF to filter the harmonics the same way for each
note you play, instead of filtering certain frequencies?

Could it be around 31 or 32? I wish the manual was more specific about the
exact values that these stupid binary numbers represent...

After a brief review of the timbre database, I've concluded that all instruments
     make saw waves. :>

Actually, two exceptions jump out. First, the clarinets seem to be low on the
even harmonics, so they should have more of a pulse wave character, which they do.
Second, the harmonics of the trumpet seem to rise in amplitude from the fundamental
to somewhere between the 4th and 8th harmonic before falling as usual.
