Does anyone know how to record the Arpeggiator into a sequencer?(preferrably
Cakewalk)
I've synced the sequencer to the k5000s and recorded the output but the pattern
starts at the wrong time!??
Some insight to this would be great
Ryan.

I've got the same problem in Cubase. It's really easy to fix. Just record the
arpegiator. Don't use the sync option. Sometimes you miss some notes at the start
of the pattern. When you have recorded the part, go to edit mode.
Select all notes. Move them to the point where you want to start the arpegiator
notes.
It comes in handy when you use a drum part and bass part in your song to. Then
you can move the arpegiator notes to whatever sounds the best in your song.
I also have a roland mc-303 and i think the arpegiator is not as powerfull
comparing to the arpegiator of the kawai k5000.
I find it really incredible to hear how they have created the arp-patterns.
Is there anyone who created there own arpegiator patterns?

K5000R question

Will the K5000R send it's arpeggiated note data output to MIDI?
I know the K5000S does, but it won't arpeggiate incomming MIDI.

As far as I know it does (I think I read it in the manual)... I have not tried this
out for myself, though, so I could be wrong. The k5000r DOES arpeggiate incoming MIDI
data (I think the S does not?). If it didn't, the arp would seless since this
thing has no keyboard!

I've been trying to record my K5000S arpeggiator into my cubase V.S.T, but I get
missing notes and other unwanted artifacts. I've tryed almost everything, maybe
you can help me...
How do you record your arpeggiator into your sequencing software?
I use a Mac, cubase, opcode midi translator pro.
thanks,

be sure to set CLICK to external on the K5k. If having problems with unwanted
sounds, try doing a ERASE PROGRAM CHANGE on your sequencing software after you
record your parts.

Can someone help me with this?

Hi!
I have a K5000s running OS 4.0 . I just got it. I know how to hook up synths and
use Midi , but for some reason I am not able to engage the Arpeggiator using a
Master Controller. I have the K5000s being controlled by an ASR-10 and
using it's sequencer. It strange because the Arpeggiator works fine while using
the K5k's keys and also is synced to the ASR's clock. It will play fine via MIDI
without the Arp. but as soon as you turn on the Arpeggiator it will only work on
the K5k. No arpeggiations will play on the ASR ,just normal keys. What am I doing
wrong? I have a K5000r and it works with no problem. Does anybody know what the
problem may be?
Thanks

This sounds normal, mine works the same way. The scoop is this: The ARP on the
K5000S only generates control signals. When Local=OFF it only sends MIDI, with
Local=ON it sends MIDI and arpeggiates the internal sound source.
But it doesn't arpeggiate incoming MIDI notes.
This is done because the K5000S was probably meant to be used as a controller
keyboard and in that context it makes sense to do it this way. Also it seems to
me that it would be difficult to get reliable operation while arpeggiating incoming
MIDI, so the engineers probably just avoided the issue with the S.
The R can't be used as a controller so it allows for this (as a rack unit it has to
do this for the ARP to be useful). But I think that I've heard that people have
been having timing problems with their R's ARPs.Not surprising(see above)! I
guess they thought that a slightly buggy ARP for the R was better than no ARP at
all.
What I would try to do if I were you would be to use the K5000S as a controller
keyboard(it works very well for this), that way you can arpeggiate anything in your
setup. You also can use the knobs to modulate other devices(they send MIDI also).
As far as I can tell, The K5000s ARP syncs pretty well to external MIDI clock, so
no problems there.
I may be wrong about some of this, if you find out different let me know!

An interesting side-feature of the Arpeggiator is that is sends MIDI clock timing
signals out when it is engaged, so you can adjust the tempo of the other synths
connected with the Speed knob on the K5K. This is most useful when recording
the Notes Out from the Arp to a sequencer: simply slave the sequencer to external
MIDI clock and your Arp output will be fit into the measures correctly!
