Problem playing demo songs

     I just brought home my K5000R today, and tried to play the demo tracks, but the
     system seems to freeze on me whenever I hit "play".

     It's no big deal, as 99% of all demos are crap anyway. I am a little concerned
     that they don't work, though. I can access patches on the same floppy without
     any problems.

     Has anyone else had this problem?

     no it didnt freeze on you, it just takes longer than most demos to run. just
     follow the instructions like it says and press play and then wait until you hear
     something. and actually the demo is quite good. 

     lemme know what happens as i have had the SAME "problem".

     I ran into the same problem at first of the demos freezing when I loaded them.
     I have them working now *I THINK* because I held the F1 key down longer,
     all the way till the Play screen stabilized. They are pretty darn good!

     Another thing that may affect the playback of the demo disk is that any echoing
     back to the K5000S must be turned off for the thing to work. It doesn't like
     getting the sysex messages it sends back while it's in the midst of sending them.
     This was true for my (now working fine, thankyou) Opcode 8Port/SE
     interface, and may be for others.
